A green bowl from Hay for a salad, a portion of pasta or a dish of roasted vegetables to share. The rolled rim and soft finish make it pleasant to hold and pass around the table. Even empty on the counter with a few lemons inside, it looks lovely.
The bowl is made in Portugal from terracotta and finished with a high-gloss green glaze. It is dishwasher safe and can also go in the oven, so you can bake a gratin in it, for example, and bring it straight to the table.
Designer Rui Pereira created the Barro collection for Hay. Barro is Portuguese for red clay, a nod to the age-old material he values so much. The bowl pairs nicely with the plates, oval dishes and butter dish from the same range, in the same green or in another colour.
