An oval dish of 20 by 27 cm for putting a gratin, roasted vegetables or a piece of fish in the oven and bringing it straight to the table. It also works well as a serving dish for olives, cheese or a slice of tart. It is 5 cm deep, just enough for a sauce.
The dish is made of terracotta in the natural colour of the clay, with hand-painted white stripes along the rim. That makes every piece slightly different. It is safe in the dishwasher and in the oven up to 220 °C.
Rui Pereira designed the Barro collection for Hay as a tribute to the Portuguese pottery tradition. The oval dish comes in two sizes and various finishes, so they are easy to combine. Let the dish cool down after the oven before rinsing it, to prevent cracks.
