A butter dish with a lid in dark blue, for the breakfast table or next to the bread at dinner. The lid keeps the butter protected, and you can simply put it in the fridge or leave it out for a while so the butter becomes spreadable. A small piece that comes to the table every day.
The butter dish consists of a small plate and a matching lid, made of terracotta in Portugal and finished in a deep dark blue. It is dishwasher safe. The soft finish and balanced shape make it pleasant to handle.
Designer Rui Pereira created the Barro range for Hay, as a tribute to the tradition and versatility of terracotta. The name means red clay in Portuguese. Combine the butter dish with the bowls and dishes from the same collection, or let the dark blue contrast with lighter tableware.
