The largest dish in the range, for a full salad, a whole grilled fish or a board of nibbles for a group. On a long table it becomes the centrepiece, and on a buffet it brings calm among all the smaller dishes. If you love cooking for a crowd, this size is a real workhorse.
The Marcel line was designed for Serax by Wouters & Hendrix, the Antwerp duo who have been making jewellery since the eighties. You can feel that background in the shape: the rim rises gently, like the line of a piece of jewellery. In this large size that detail comes into its own.
The porcelain has a deep black finish. Light and bright colours look especially beautiful against it: a salad with pomegranate, a piece of salmon with lemon, or a pile of white asparagus in spring. Even empty on a side table or long cabinet it is an object to look at, for instance with a few lemons or pomegranates on it. Despite its size the dish is made for everyday use: it is dishwasher safe and the porcelain is sturdy. Combine it with the smaller dishes from the same line for a buffet in three sizes, or with white crockery for a strong contrast.
