A portable reading lamp without a cord: you charge it and put it wherever you need it. On the bedside table for a chapter before sleep, beside the reading chair on a quiet Sunday, or on the garden table when it gets dark outside and nobody wants to go in yet. The light falls downwards onto your book or your plate, without shining into your eyes.
The shade and base come in a clear blue. This colour belongs to the Renew range. The blue is fresh without being loud and looks lovely against a white wall, an oak bookcase or a linen tablecloth. During the day, when the lamp is off, it is a small accent of colour on a shelf or windowsill.
The shape of the Mono, designed by Notion Studio, is inspired by Zuo Yi: the bowing greeting of ancient Chinese terracotta figurines, a gesture of hospitality. The design won a Good Design Award in 2023. A single touch turns it on and dims it, and the USB-C cable comes in the box. Anyone looking to surprise a book lover will find a gift here that gets used every day.
