At an outdoor dinner you don't need mood lighting from above, just something on the table that softly lights up the plates and the faces. That is what this Mono is made for. Indoors it does the same for anyone who wants to read in bed without keeping their partner awake: the shade directs the light downwards and keeps it close to the book.
The lamp combines two shades: a blue shade on a mint green base. The combination has a touch of the fifties and adds a cheerful note to a calm room. Next to white crockery and glass on a laid table the mint stands out beautifully, and in a bedroom with light fabrics it feels fresh and airy.
The head of the Mono rotates a long way round. Point it at the wall or the ceiling and the reading light becomes a soft ambient light that fills the room. You charge the battery with a USB-C cable, and a single button turns it on and sets the brightness. Anyone who takes several colours can spread them along a long table or across different rooms, and have the same warm light everywhere.
