A classic stovetop coffee maker in the largest size: for a full table, after a dinner or during a long brunch. Even empty it looks good on the hob or on an open kitchen shelf, as a piece of Italian coffee culture.
With Moka, architect David Chipperfield created an ode to the classic Italian coffee pot, commissioned by Alessi. The familiar form remained, but the body gained eleven sides and the handle became sturdier and better balanced. Aluminium ensures even heating and a full cup.
Pour water into the base up to just below the valve, fill the filter with ground coffee without pressing it down and put it on a low heat. After a few minutes you hear it bubble and the coffee is ready. Rinse it with warm water after use, without washing-up liquid, and over time the coffee gains an even fuller taste. This large size is ideal if you often have guests over, for a brunch that runs long or to make coffee for everyone at once after a dinner. Add a few espresso cups and the table is ready.
